Question

We are in the process of buying a Volvo v40 @ work for one of our chaps.
It comes with a combined single CD player, tape deck and radio built into the dash in one of those double deep affairs, not a std size.

The chap would like a multiplay CD, no interested in the single/ tape deck. Volvo Want £ 399.00 + VAT + Fitting to add just the 10 disk multiplayer bit - This i recon is a bit pricy!

OK, getting to the point
A) is it possible to fit a std unit in the dash bearing in mind theis one piece unit is buiult in and twice the height off a 'normal' unit, is there a blanking plate/other surround avaliable.

Any recommendations as regards a headuints (with a 10 cd stacker) would be much appreciated. I have a budget of £ 300.00 incl VAT.

I would have thought you could get a head unit and changer and autoleads adaptor for that and still have change...

Have a look at www.autoleads.com for adaptors... and see www.caraudiodirect.com as they may have some deals on packages...

Ask Volvo what manufacturer produces their OE ICE fitment, Subaru use Kenwood and you can simply plug in a standard off the shelf changer from your local friendly dealer.

Thumbs up

Cheers chaps, Spoke with Car Audio Direct, very knoledgable and helpful, looks like i can fit an Alpine 10 CD unit for £ 239.00 incl VAT. The std head unit is Alpine.

I recon by the time you add the VAT i have saved £ 200.00.

Many thanks
