Exactly where mine are. It's just the most simple & effective place to put them as the wires can just go straight into the doors & they fit with one screw causing as little cosmetic damage to your car as possible.

Exactly where mine are too, looks great and its a convenient place to mount them. Trying to fit the Crossover units in the door panels though that was fun!!!

 

Great fun ! Decided to put my crossover on the kickpanel in the footwell though. Bit concerned about it getting wet inside the door.
