Default MY05 - Amp Wiring

Can someone please advise me on where they ran their cables? Mainly the power cable... im looking to put my Sub + Amp in next week, and cant really see anywhere suitable to get through the bulkhead cleanly.

Any help appriciated.

Thanks,

I used the main ecu loom entry/exit point which is on the battery side under the TMIC. Take the intercooler off, unwrap the tape around the rubber grommit and then pass the cable through. Getting the rubber thing out of the fire wall takes a bit of pulling but there is plenty of room in there to get a 4 AWG cable in. Once in re-wrap some tape round the end and away you go.

Tony.

PS that's on an MY06, but i used the same on my old MY93 and MY98s.

Some info in the FAQ sticky; MY05 WRX HU and iPod interface installation guide - no intercooler removal required!

LOL... you can get away without taking it off... but it's 2 bolts and 3 jubilee clips and makes it a whole lot easier. That way you can actually get the gromit out and feed the power cable through rather than just stabbing a hole in it and getting silicone all over the place to seal it. Much neater install and takes all of 5 mins to remove

I'm just a bodger with some things... To be honest a car-kit had been fitted (by others) and they'd already used the cable route I did (using the stab and blob method) so I just followed suit!
