Can anyone suggest where to place the above unit, doesn't appear to be room under the headunit/Forester pocket. Can it be placed underneath the centre console arm rest?

Mines tucked away with all the wiring behind the dash stuck to the inside of the passenger side 'wall' bit.

I've drilled a hole in the back of the forester pocket and fed the cable through, only an ipod mini will fit but probably the new slim ipod video's will get into the gap as well with the Defi controller.

Mine is actually behind the pocket and headunit, fitted fine (MY06). I keep the ipod itself in the glove box with the wire fed up behind it.

Thanks guys, i'll have another look tonight - all seems a bit tight unnder there but maybe just need to tidy up the cables. Do the Kenwood units have a cooling fan - I can hear a slight buzz when the CD drive is function - was hot in the car yesterday?
