Default tweeters in the dash

Has anyone mounted tweeters in a newage dash, and if so have you got any pictures?

I'm thinking of getting the circular saw out and sawing two holes at the far ends of the dash (where the a-pillars start) and mounting my tweeters there (to bring the sound stage up a bit).

Are there any cables directly underneath the dash and how thick is the dash?

No...

...but if you look on talk-audio, they show you how to do it in the A-pillar covers...

Yes, I was thinking of doing that as well, but I want to go as stealth as possible without having to use the orrible, orrible standard locations...

I'm not sure, but it feels as if a-pillar mounts are less stealthy than nicely countersunk tweets on the dash (but I may be wrong)

I've just ordered a new set of comps (Arc Audio KAR265), so will have to have a look at the tweets to see what they are like.

I've mounted mine on the inside of the door mirror i think that brings the sound stage up enough without having to run wires and cut the dash.

Yeah I was looking at tweeter positioning today and I think I might end up mounting them there too... I think that the dash isn't very suitable because the bulge at the steering wheel would obscure the right tweeter from the passenger seat.

Do you find that the right tweeter is too close to you in relation to the left one (sitting in the drivers seat)?

I find it ok and it did improve the listening experience. If you have a decent head unit you should be able to adjust the settings if you find the tweeter sounds too close.
