stereo turns off when turned up loud
as above i usually have the volume on 25 in my car but lately its been switching off when above 19. at 1st i thought it was a bad earth to the amp. i fitted another earth to the amp but no joy. ive dissconected the amp and run the stereo alone and it still switches off when it gets above 19.
once its triped off it comes back on again 2 seconds later but i have to turn it down again else it does the same.

Have you still got the speaker leads connected up to the head unit? if so, I'd check that none of them are grounding, as it sounds like the internal amp of your h/u is turning off, which normally means that there's a short or something causing it to do that.
You can check the resistance that the amp sees with a multimeter by taking out the h/u and looking at the ISO connector block, particularly the speaker connector which is the half of the connector with all pins in it...
If something's shorting out, resistance will be very low. If it's connected to a speaker, it should be 3-4 ohms, and if it's not connected you should get no reading on your multimeter.
