Paul, you could get a top of the range Kenwood head unit and 10 disc changer for 400 quid. Depends how much of the 400 you want to spend.

You could always go for one of the MP3 head units?

I got all my stuff from MCS Direct who are in Leicester and have always given me good timely service and cheap(ish) prices

I'm in Notts, so if you want to have a look at what my 400 quid got me, give me a shout.

I'll be at Donno on Saturday, meeting up at the services at 8am, so you can see then. I could probably give you a hand fitting as well.

Edit : Oops, mines on a MY00 so will be a little different with fitting. You can still scope it out though

Gentlemen,

Need some help here!! Looked at getting the 6CD changer for my MY01 this morning to use with the standard system but £290 (Subaru dealer) is ridiculous - and not very good so I believe (not having heard a decent system I don't know!!)
Looking at getting an aftermarket system but my knowledge amounts to sweet F.A. so any recommendations as to what to go for on a budget of say £400. Could change the speakers for something better later on when I get a few more beer tokens.

Cheers
Paul

Hanslow,

Thanks for the tips. I'm planning on popping to Donno tomorrow to have a look seeing as it's so close (I live in Gotham so it's only 10mins). My car is a blue MY01 with a TSL spoiler and Morette's.

Cheers
Paul

Narrows it down a bit.

I'll be there, with two scooby doos on the rear shelf, P1 wheels, scoobysport exhaust, PIAAs and a gauge pod as the visible mods.

Nick.

I don't know if this fits the '01 but might be worth finding out...

I haven't got one but have used the company for other things in the past...

Thanks

Well just so you know what mine looks like, it's a Silver MY00, tsl freely advertised web address sticker on the back , some dinky Hella Comet Xenon 200 gas discharge lights instead of the fogs. Other than that, looks a standard MY00 (at the mo).

I'll be milling about all over introducing myself to a lot of people who don't know who I am and have never heard of me

Gavin, Thanks for the link - how Subaru get away with charging £270 for a 6CD changer I don't know!! Looks good but I've decided the standard head unit is naff after listening to a mate's Sony unit in his Astra - cheers anyway!!

Hanslow - will come and find you - I've got a TSL sticker as well plus I'm just getting a hands-free kit fitted so I'll have an ariel in the rear window. Currently the headlining is partailly out - eek!!

See you guys tomorrow then
Paul
