Protecting speakers from water in doors

Hey,
Read a thread a few months ago regarding water getting into the doors and soaking speakers. Took my old speakers out today and the inside of the door was pretty wet, crossovers were soaked (they'll be going inside now I think) but the little Infinitys were covered by the OE splash guard. The new 65.3 Kappas I'm of course worried about now, don't want those soaking wet. Did anyone find a way of making their doors watertight or protecting their speakers? And since I'm here, where's the best place to mount a power dist block? Mines a UK MY98 without air con, somewhere to drill where that gap is?
Cheers,
Steve.

I got some foam speaker baffles sent to be by Rockin'Ru. Unfortunately Crutchfield were the only place that seemed to do them. Check out their site. Originally I was going to use them to lose the infinite baffle, but then I changed my speakers, and found they were very effective just for weather protection and extra soundproofing with the bottom quarter cut out. Speakers have remained dry despite residence in Scotland.

Sounds like an idea, I'm presuming those baffles have some acoustic quality they're designed for? I'll check out their site.

Just had a look at the 6.5" baffles and they have a depth of 3" (77mm). Will these fit between the speaker mount and the window when down?, I remember a thread with John B that the speakers needed to be less than 64mm.
I'm looking at upgrading the front speakers to 605cs (good advise from yourselves) and would be interested in a set of the baffles to protect my investment. Would we be looking at a group buy or something??

Can't remember what depth mine were but I think they were $8 + delivery in US + postage - obviously overheads could be lower if there was a group buy.
Whatever, they just squash out the way when the window goes down. They will change the acoustics of the speakers unless you put a hole in the back - preferably in the bottom section say cut 1/4 of it away. If your speakers are particularly deep there could be problems with the window going down by adding material that has to sqaush down in addition, but with 605CS (59.5mm m depth) they work fine.

No excuses for backing down doing the speaker upgrade if I buy these. Put me down for 2 pairs.
Just out of intertested as I've not opened my door panels yet, what is in their as standard to protect the speakers??

Cheers Steve!
We're just trying to work out the logistics of this one, folks, so bear with us. Neither Steve nor I are taking a cut here, so we'll have to work this one out...
Will keep everyone informed.
Nick.

Sorry folks, hectic weekend.
Expect a mail tonight asking for confirmation. I'll be shelling out, so I'd appreciate it if people only confirm if they'll pay me
If anyone has their mail address "hidden", please email me - chiark@hotmail.com
