Question Corsa spacers???

Bought a set of subaru spacers to fit my new Infinity speakers and guess what..they don't fit..Speakers 165mm Subaru spacers 130mm.

So decided to get some for a Corsa to try as they were 165mm.
Anybody else used these spacers before....????

I know i will have to adapt them slightly, just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem.
Thought about MDF but my DIY skills are abit pants..

try searching the ICE forum using the keyword "corsa". Sure you'll find one or two posts on the matter. !

I used Corsa spacers on my MY06 to fit some 165mm speakers. I just had to saw off a locating lug on the back (10secs work).

It aligned fine on the bottom two original screw points, but I needed to drill a hole in the spacer a couple of mm down at the top to pick up on the top original mounting of the door. Very easy and I'm far from Mr DIY when it comes to drilling holes etc.

you can use the astra/vectra ones in classics, if they dont fit the original holes exact its not a problem just twist the adaptor slightly and drill new ones so that it does fit. another tip is to fill the edge of the adaptor with fibreglass so it makes a more solid base for the speaker to work in, the plastic is a bit too flimsy and reinforcing it will help with SQ. use sound deadening as well on the doors.
