Default adding a multichanger

I have the standard/as supplied stereo in my 2001 WRX but I'd like to add a CD multi-changer to this. Anyone any recommendations? Is it easy? Our car technical bod says best bet is to fit an IPod.......

DAP player yes but not an ipod.

Original unit should be a Kenwood, so look to buy a Kenwood Music Keg which is a hard drive digital audio player and comes with a range of high capacity storage drives [10Gb, 20Gb, 40Gb, 80Gb]. Then you don't need a CD changer.

Advantages over ipod are it plays more codec files, namely .ogg .FLAC .mp3 .wma and it will never ever skip like a CD changer will over uneven ground.

my 20Gb drive is about half full and has 120 albums and no end of dj sessions from www.mixdepot.net

really cool

I'm not sure the standard HU can display CD text, so you'd be left with a number for your tracks (how does track 2,345 sound?).

I could be wrong though...

The Music Keg has a voice catalogue system whereby it reads the playlist name to you in alphabetical order so you hear the album about to be played as you effectively use the change disk function of the HU. If CDtext isn't available then you would still get the album tracks as 1,2,3,4,5 etc although you would know the album playing but then you would only get this with a CD changer anyway

Trust me, these things are the dogs...
