I know that a crap HU amplified in theory should be rubbish, but, is it really? Has any one tried the set up? The OEM HU from a MY01 Bugeye into a 4 channel amp to 4 good speakers?

Thoughts?

There's no pre-out on the standard HU (well, at least not in the one I took out anyway), so you'll be running line level input to the amp (sub-optimal!)

I see no reason why it wouldn't be an improvement over standard, but would suggest trying to budget for a HU upgrade at some stage.

From an investment perspective, you would also want to upgrade the speaker wires as well as the amp/speakers themselves.

Thanks. I was going to replace wiring with some good OFC stuff. I am thinking about a cheap HU that looks okay Maybe a Pioneer as they have green illumination and are silver. All the fancy stuff that you get with HU's seems a bit of a waste of time often.
