Door speakers
Hi,
Searched the old threads but didn't find a definite thread!
Looking to change my door speakers in my MY96 JDM STI. I understand that they are 6" standard, is this true? I can fit 5.25 easily, but I want to fit 6.5 for better sound and volume. Can I fit these straight in?
I understand that there is not much room (ie. depth) behind the mounting plates. Does anybody know what is the maximum width of speaker that fits into the door?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello mate,to increase the depth for the new speaker simply remove old door speaker remove membrane and magnet etc so you are just left withthe plastic frame, mount new speaker on top.Wont work on 3way as itis a tight sqeeze.
hope this helps
Managed to get 17cm infinity's in mine 2way good sound!

Honestly cant remember installed about a year ago from Halfrauds about £50-£60.I used the covers on the rear shelf didn't want to chop away for the 6x9 so just suspended them on foam rings and spacers work a treat.Best of luck
