Positive/negative earth?

Positive/negative earth?
Quick question (and no I haven't done a search, too busy):-
I have just taken the crap headunit out of my missus' dead Nova to put in my Suzuki supercarry van (like a Bedford Rascal). The Nova had a negative earth, the van has a positive earth - will the headunit work , and will I get electrocuted??
Many thanks in advance,
Toe

Wow - positive earth? Though they went out in the 50's! I'd make sure the HU isn't connected to any metalwork via the case, and wire the positive and negative feeds directly to the battery (with in-line fuse in the positive feed as close to the battery as possible).
It'sl ikely the HU case is earthed, hence the need to make sure it's not connected to the body metalwork.
