I have installed a 15" Alpine...no problems which I could solve with damoing. The only thing rattleing is the rear bumper. I dampened the sides as well as the opening. Out of the point that the car is heavier now...nothing changed so far.
In the front doors I would use 4mm on the downside and on the upper side 2mm. Its worth it!

Okay bud, while we're at it whats the best rca cable to buy for not silly money, think im gonna need 3 lengths of 3 meters.
Or am i best the buy separate cables and terminals and do it myself, as i understand that RCAs are the best cables to spend money on.

Don´t know if you´ve got them over there, in my oppinion the best are the Basic XLR. Nothing else!
Also the speaker cables are interessting. Important there is just if its copper or silver (silver is more dynamic, copper is warmer), both have to have as less oxigin as possible (99.8% free!)
