Talking Is there such a thing as "wireless" ICE?

You know, like you have wireless home entertainment systems so you don't have to take up your carpets to lay the wires and wireless keyboards so the back of the pc doesn't look like a bush deep in the Amazon! etc.
Basically wouldn't it be easier to just install the hardware i.e head, speakers, subs amps etc and then via the head unit, configure it and hey presto, no faffing with wires, impedences, crossover wires, depth, ohms, heat sink, wire gauge etc
Has it been done, is it expensive or is the technology nowhere near good enough yet?

The only bit which could be wireless would be the link between the head unit and the amp(s). You'd still need to hard-wire the power and the 'speaker/amp link - wireless can provide signals but not power (not sensibly, anyway).

So, you've lost about one set of phonos, which is probably the easiest bit of a car install to do!

Oh, and no I haven't seen anything like this on the market...

I've always wanted a wireless connection between my car and the Mac - wireless transfer of MP3s to the head unit............

One day maybe (without the use of a car PC!!!)
