Unhappy New Nakamichi probs!

I've just fitted a brand spankers Nakamichi CD400 head unit along with Infinity 6500 front door speakers to my 05 STi

and I have to say that the sound quality is unbelievable!!at least eleventy three times better than my previous cars with JVC,Clarion and Kenwood units

it even looks as tho it 'was made' to fit the new age double din(unlike most)

however, the bluddy CD don't work, the motor won't pull the CD's in,altho the radio goes off and the front panel lights up 'track 1' when I try to insert a disc

Now I thought Nakamichi was quality stuff,(even tho it was reduced by 300 pounds)or have I made a fundamental installation error

...its fooked,isn't it? Jon

It's fooked.

Nak is known for its sound quality, and also the relative delicacy of its internals.

You ain't kidding!

I was given 3 Naks, untill i finally got one that worked

fits and sounds a treat tho

...crappy pic or what?

Any recommendations as to what to do with the crummy rear door speakers?

On my 03 they were disconnected and 6x9's were fitted on the parcel shelf, but I'd rather not go down that route this time.

Well if anyones interested,I swauged in a set of 13cm Sony xsF1334's,without any probs.

I had to drill 4 holes for the self-tappers but at least I've got a fairly decent sound now.

....but still not as good as 'er indoors std Corsa set up

What next,sub and amp?

Ive got a CD-45. Feckin wicked head units - but radio is ****E - you cant use TA - it just jumps between stations every 5 secs! LOL

Sounds fecked to me!

By the way - just leave the rear door speakers.

6*9 genesis sub woofers in parcel shelf ? Nice and light but not as good as a sub?
