Kenwood Music Keg KHD-C710
Just bought one of these on an impulse buy from UHF on the FS forum..
Does anyone know if the standard head unit from a MY05 WRX will drive one of these - I believe they are rebadged Kenwoods ?
Don't worry though I am planning to upgrade the HU soon - will be looking for a double din Kenwood unit - any recommendations ?
Cheers Guys..

The head unit is a Kenwood GX401 EF2.
It has a 13 pin DIN connector on the back for CD changers etc. - see my post on DIY iPod Interface for a diagramme of the connector. I'd imagine the music keg's lead has a similar connector, in which case it may well work.
It also may not work, however I very much doubt any harm will come to the unit.

Not sure about the standard head unit. It accepts a normal CD changer, so if the keg uses that, you should be in business.
Kenwood do a nice (but expensive) 2 din unit

But I here it is about to be replaced, so some bargains could be had about the internet.

Couldn't wait and can confirm it works perfectly with the standard head unit
No CD Tex unfortunately but the voice announcement for each disc is pretty cool
Not a bad price now either as Pixmania are selling them for around £170..!
Only a 10 gig HD but upgrades are easily available I believe...
All in all a very nice bit of kit - many thanks to UHF ! Well pleased...
