Lightbulb Aerial Problems

Just fitted a Double Din Pioneer FH-P4100 CD/Tape/Tuner in MY05 WRX.

Big improvment on the OE unit in both sound and looks. My problem is although everything is connected i cannot get any radio channels other than radio 2 (strong signal).

Any suggestions? Was there some sort of signal amp built into the OE unit ?

Yep, sounds like the old powered antenna problem again.

Have a search around the forums ,there must be plenty of people who have had this problem before.

Does anyone find the standard aerial appalling quality anyway?

If so does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the reception?

I too have a MY05

Drill a hole in the roof and fit a propper whip one.
Not my idea of fun though.
