60mm Mounting Depth. Too Much ?
I have some speakers with a 60mm mounting depth that I want to fit in the front doors on my MY03 scoob. I've seen on the FAQ that people have fitted 52mm depth speakers using 12mm spacers with 5mm to spare before hitting the window. So assuming 57mm total depth, I'm 3mm over that with nothing to spare.
Anyone know how much clearance there is before I foul the door card ?
Assuming I used 20mm material as a spacer, am I likely to have room under the door card, allowing for speaker movement ?
I have taken off the door card but don't currently have any material to test it out with.
What depth of speaker have people fitted so far ?
Cheers,
Dunk

I've just fitted Infinity 6000cs (53mm depth) with 12mm MDF spacers (i have a template if you need it) but didn't check the gap behind them, i believe 20mm spacers would be to big and the speaker would be hitting the door card (ask scoobytoo on KentScoobies) as he had this problem with some focal speakers and ended up changing to Infinity's as well.

A couple of guys in THIS THREAD have fitted Rainbow SLX265 Deluxe speakers into the front doors.
The website for Rainbow shows the mounting depth as 63/61mm Don't know how much work was needed to get them in.
Would love to know as I am currently torn between going for the Rainbows or the old faithful Infinity's that are on special offer at Halfords (£69.99)!

I have a feeling, that without a lot of messing they aren't going to fit. Even by shaving off the collar on the inside of the door card, it won't give much more clearance.
I've since bought some cheap Alpine components (45mm depth ) to tide me over until I find something suitable. I am little loathed to get the Infinities again, as I had them in my last Scoob, fancy something new. Although for £70 its tempting
Looks like the Cerwin Vega's are going on eBay
