MP3 Connection

MP3 Connection
I have a new shape Legacy. I was going to install a CD Changer, but bought a portable MP3-type (not an i-pod). I was told that I could connect a lead from the headphone socket on the MP3 player into the CD Changer input on the back of the stereo unit.
I purchased a lead from 'Just Kenwood'. It has two phono leads on one end and a round 13 pin connector on the other.
Having removed the stereo unit, however, the only spare input socket that I can see is rectangular and has 20 pins.
My local Subaru dealer told me that I could buy an adapter from an ICE shop, but I have, as yet, not been able to track this down.
Has anyone had any experience of this?
