Default Aerial amplifier

Does anyone know where the aerial amplifier is located in a newage scoob, and how it can be accessed. I get crap radio reception and want to check the amplifier to see if it's working. Thanks!

It's under the parcel shelf on the right. A little black box.

Thanks. I presume one wire is the positive 12v supply, and the other the aerial lead back to the head-unit.

That's the aerial noise suppressor, not the amp. I think the amps behind one of the rear door pillars but it's very difficult to get to. I've checked the blue amp power lead near the head unit and it reads 12v but I don't know what else to do.

In the wagon, it's in the roof lining. The black box that's talked about there is, as ed says, a noise supressor on the heated rear windscreen.

Can't remember the location in the saloon - sorry. I think it's been discussed before, so search might work?

Apparently, it's in the rear quarter panel on a saloon. If you've fitted an amp, or an EQ, the RF interference from either can knock out the functioning of the screen aerial

Just so you know, my only solution for this was to fit a roof mounted hirschmann aerial. Drilling a hole in the roof of a 2 month old car is not a job for the faint hearted!

I've only changed the HU. Is there a voltage across the two leads in and out of the suppressor or is it supposed to be 0 volts?

It's just a set of inductors to act as a filter for noise, that's all. I don't think there should be any voltage across it, but couldn't swear to it.

The important bit is the aerial amp, not the suppressor

If the aerial amp isn't working, how bad will the reception be? I can tune in to FM stations but only just and the static rises and falls as I drive the car around. Is it worth trying to get to the amplifier to check it out?
