Question

Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to remove the rear shelf? I want to remove my rear (aftermarket) speakers, and cover the shelf in acoustic carpet, to allow a vet from the boot, but not have the grills on show!

Thanks
Andy

There is an entry in the SIDC FAQ, but it is a pig to do. Remove seat base - two bolts and hook at back. Remove seat back - three bolts, lift up and at top to remove. Next release plastic panels either side of rear window - just on poppers - I release all the way to the B pillar - have to undo one screw low down in C pillar to allow this. Then cut carpet of old shelf along window edge - difficult - in the end I could not release it easily and just bent the shelf up and did my best This is why I had to remove the strips above the back doors to the B pillar - the FAQ suggests just releasing the plastic panels either side of the window enough to bend the shelf up and remove - but this was just wishful thinking for me!

Incidentally - I tried venting the boot and it sounded a bit boomy. Probably depends on your sub and your tastes. Venting also increases noise from the road, and I quite like a bit of rear fill - running aftermarkets speakers off head unit at about 10-20% power of fronts.

Cheers,

John

Nick,

I seem to be getting a 404 error with that page!

Is it me, or the site???
