Question Help with Sub choice

I have past experience with Rockford Fosgate and was really impressed with their products and want to stay with them. (Cash flow dependant! )

I am looking at getting this amplifier:

300 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS

and am trying to decide which 12" sub would go best with it out of these two.

1.

Power handling(RMS) - 200 Watts
Power handling(Peak) - 400 Watts
Impedance - 4 Ohms

or

2.

Power handling(RMS) - 500 Watts
Power handling(Peak) - 1000 Watts
Impedance - 4 Ohms

Now......my understanding is that the amp isn't powerful enough for the 500W sub...but is it too powerful for the other sub?

Also...does anyone know of any stockists in the UK that can supply one of these enclosures?...and a rough price?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Nice looking kit, you will need 2x12's to sound really bling bling though

I think I will make do with one thanks very much. The last Rockford single 12" I had was plenty loud enough for me!

That amp and the 200w driver would be fine. you can't have too much amp power for subs! the more power the cleaner the bass will be with less chance of a blow.

I've just gone for RF gear, see pics below - really sweet sound, but then I wanted in car quality rather than out and out loudness - let me know if you want the full spec on the gear

I`m running 900w rms through a hx2 RFosgate sub rated at 500w rms.
No problems at all.
