u wont find any 6x9`s that will go in without mods mate didnt use mdf as a spacer on mine just cut the holes in the metal shelf underneath wider.it was an absolute pig of a job but sounds 200% better.Didnt want to go mad on price as went there with last car so bought some alpines from car electronics leicester (net price £29.99) website is cel-direct.com cant go wrong at that money depends how mad u wanna go these were only 120watts but fine for what i wanted. If u dont want hassle just buy some quality 6in rounds

I have Kenwood 7 * 10's in MY00 mounted from below , no need for cutting.
I have 6 1/2 inch in the front doors on 6mm spacers.
The kenwoods come with the fixings for mounting up as opposed to in.

You could always get a set of component MB-Quartz in the back shelf...great bass response and very punchy (will sound like you have asub even though you dont) along with excellent midrange! Deep cone and good size drivers with crossovers. Cost around £160.00 from what I can remember.

Not sure if they still sell em these days, but they fitted and worked a treat in my old scoob (no need to amp, sounded sweet off a good head unit)

Thumbs up

I had some pioneer TSA-6910 330w 6x9's fitted a couple of weeks ago, didn't fancy doing the job myself as i wanted it doing properly! basically they had to mount the speakers on 18mm mdf spacers, cost me about £40 to have done not including the speakers but as they are mounted on metal and mdf the quality of the sound sounds 200% better than the setup did in the little peugeot i used to drive! If you don't mind having the metal under the shelf tampered with I'd say go with the 6x9's!

I have MB Quart 2-way on the rear shelf, and they fitted straight in. They sound way better than OEM, but they don't sound like subs.
