Default Amp whine

Can anyone here recommend somewhere where I can get a good quality 2 metre RCA lead? I'm still getting a whine from my amp in time with the revs. I've negated the possibility of poor earthing causing it and the speaker cables do not run anywhere near any power cables.

Taff,

If you run an earth from the head unit to the same point where the amp's earth connects to the chassis, this should get rid of the whine.

It is probably earth related, but not definitely. Google for noise flowchart and you'll find a good troubleshooting website

Well I have an earth lead going to battery neg and a lead connected to the body directly. Surely this will be sufficient earth, no?

For my earth Ive used the seatbelt anchor mounting points in the rear.I sanded the paint off the car to get bare metal and thus a good fresh contact... no whine.

Taff,

There's many causes of noise, not necessarily earthing. Do that google, you know you want to, as there's great advice out there.

I've had whine in 2 installs, neither in a scoob. The first was due to a failed RCA cable (!!!!), the second time it was an electrically noisy fuel pump interfering with an RCA cable running near the fuel pump wiring.
