Default latest shape impreza - stereo upgrades

I have an o4 plate sti and the stereo and speakers are awful....really really bad.

I am putting a pioneer motorised tv unit in the front and wanted to know if anyone else has changed the speakers and if so what did they use and did they fit behind the existing grills??

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've just had a set of Infinity 6000cs in the front and 4002i put in the rear. Rear's are pretty much a striaght swap but the fronts need a spacer to prevent them fouling the eletric window.

The sound is so much better.

I'm replacing the head unit in two weeks so hopefully it will sound better again.

Bull**** it invalidates the warranty.

Some 6.5" component speakers will fit eg. Focal Polyglass Slims, without spacers. Also I think most 5.25" comps will as they are shallower.

You'll need an amp and I would just disconnect the rears and spend the money on a sub instead.

Subaru are telling you it invalidates the warranty? I'd find it difficult not to call 'em a bunch of useless tossers and ask for my money back if some smart arsed garage tried to pull that one.

No, I'd really loose my sense of humour about that one.

Write to Subaru, or phone them, and get that useless **** covering dealer to buck his ideas up!
