Default Thanks

Just completed the install of an Alpine head unit (above Silver forester pocket) and infiinity 6000s to MY03 and wanted to say thanks to Chiark and GaryCat for the very useful info!

Job went very well - thanks to you!

I'll say thankyou too..... in advance..... all my bits are on order (Alpine, Infinity, Dynamat etc.).... but I have printed out both guides & studied them religiously for the last 2 nights.... much to GF's annoyance

This is the kind of thing that makes this such a great BBS.... hope there is some pearl of wisdom I discover myself some day that I can share here

I too would like to add my thanks to GaryCat and Chiark for the how to sections on their web site.

As you can see from my “Just going to order this Sony CD Tuner what do you think” thread I have fitted my head unit, using the confidence gained from the how to do threads by Garycat and Chiark.

I have posted pictures of my install using the Forester flip down tray 66128SA000.

As you can see from my other thread “The most asked Question regarding ice here” thread, I only want to replace the speakers and don’t want to get involved with crossover mounting and making collars.

I am however surprised that few others have fitted anything other than infinity speakers and if they have they have not shared that information on here.

I have looked at the history on this thread and have found little to help, although I have noted many owners just wanting a speaker swap out, possibly with only buying some kind of adaptor ring.

Once again I would like to add my thanks to Garycat and Chiark.

Would also be interested in hearing if anyone has gone another road speaker-wise..... I based my decision on the Infinitys because I used to own a pair of 693 6x9s and loved the sound. But sure enough, reading the boards here, you'd think nobody recommended anything else!
