1) How do you get the original head unit out of a 2001 WRX??

2) Does the original headunit have pre-outs?? I want to run RCA's from the headunit to a sub, but cant be arsed splashing out for a new h/u!!!

Yeah, but if I knew if it did or didnt, then it could save me a lot of time taking the stereo out to look.

I am 99.99999% sure it doesn't. If I remember rightly it's only got a plug which goes into the wiring harness and a separate telephone mute cable.

If it's the same as the kenwood unit fitted to the 03 WRX it doesn't have pre-outs.

 

It is the same - so now I'm 100% sure!!!!
