Question Pls help - fitting a CD changer

I have a CD changer to fit into Sti4.

There is no space under the shelf as there is the wiper motor and as I use my boot a lot (all the time) is there another place then the bottom of the boot? (glovebox is nono)

Another even bigger problem is that the car is sitting on Leda B corners and the ride is quite bumpy so I can only imagine how unhappy the CD changer is going to be. Any solutions to that?

Thank you for QUICK responses as I have only very short time to make it happen.

Cheers
Robert

Buy a MP3 HU, and you`ll save loads of room.(under £100 quid now)
Thats what I fit to EVO`s, Subarus and other high performance cars.
Good sounds and they enable more albums than a 10 discs changer.

Will it fit under the passenger seat? That's where I fixed a Kenwood 10-CD changer to my wifes car.

I think it'll have to go in the boot. I'll make some kind of casing from PDF for it.

Now how to protect it from the extra vibrations?
Springs, foam ???

Put it in the centre of the car if you can - under the seat is ideal. This isolates it somewhat from the worst jars of suspension, and also meets your space challenge.

Mine never skips (when I use it - I have an mp3 head unit and the changer is probably jammed up by now )

Cheers,
nick.

had my kenwood 10-dic under the rear shelf of my sti - 3.... tight but it goes, no problems with jogging. Let the cd unit handle the vibrations, they are designed witht his in mind.....

have now done a better boot installation, but the under the rear shelf worked just fine for the kenwood.

regards

mikey

mikey, would you have any pics of your install now?

Will have to check the shelf again then as I did just a quick try which didn't fit.

I am assuming this a classic? If so I fitted mine to the right of the wiper motor in the boot. Just used some rubber washers and self tappers to mount the brackets. Worked well and I have seen a dealer fit in the same place.
