Wiring up KVT-920DVD
Lo all,
Finally got one of these units. Was reading through the manual this evening and noticed that you cannot view DVD or TV whilst the vehicle is in motion, as you need to wire up a cable to the handbrake light/switch. One of the main reasons I bought this unit was so that I could keep my young son entertained in the passenger seat so I'm a little miffed if this is the way it has to be.
Looking at the circuit diagram though, it just looks like a feed which needs to go to wire into a switch which when giving a positive feed (Handbrake light on) will allow TV to be displayed. Can I just wire this up to a permanent live feed, like the cigerette lighter?
Please tell me there is a way this can be done!
Karl

no dont wire it to a positive feed just join it to the earth lead for the head unit and you will never have a problem
just make sure you turn the screen off when the police go passed as its ilegal to view a screen from the drivers seat when the car is moving
