Everyone with a sub in a scoobz boot will have the familiar rattle problem, I think. The biggest problem seems to be the bumper and the boot catch itself, i've still not managed to fix the rattle on my00 after 2 years of trying, don't want to put too much sound deadening in as this increases the weight of the car. Another problem was my interior mirror that rattled so hard that it made a awful noise on low bass notes, ive fixed this one by putting some kitchen roll behind the mirror fixing point and it makes a hell of a difference.

get some dynamat and line the boot lid internally, i also found by using sikaflex car body sealant to stick the inner boot skin to the outer this helped loads. If you look closley on the inside of the boot it is only stuck in places and thats the majority of the rattles.. Spoiler is another story at the moment.
My boot sounds like a £60,000 bmw when it shuts now !!
I am running 2 12" subs at about 130 db....

You have to line the boot and the boot lid with sound deadning material. Yes it will increase the weight but then don't eat so many burgers this week to compensate.
Put carpet underlay below the boot carpet, wrap foam around any loose wiring and put some in the spare wheel space as well.
It is possible, so don't give up
