If there's no power at all to the ends of the speaker cable, then there's only 2 things it can be really: either they aren't connected at the head unit or there's a break in the cable somewhere .... unless, of course, there is actually no signal coming out of the rear outputs on the stereo.

Try and check the cable as it goes round any obstructions. I don't know exactly where the OEM cabling goes in the back of Scoobs but a general common place for problems with broken cables is if they get squashed under rubber door seals or if they go through protective tubing into a door pocket and the protective stuff gets damaged, etc.

If you prefer, you might find it easier to just check the back of the head unit first. You could always try connecting a new speaker cable to the back of the stereo and plugging it straight into one of the speakers on your lap. It will either work or not work - pretty conclusive either way !!

Both nearside and offside front speaker cables are red and green in my MY96 import. I haven't done the rear speakers yet but someone here should know if they are different in the back.

Take a look at Chiark's web site as you might find some info there: http://www.chiark.com
