Does anyone know where i can get a cheap sat nav system for my scooby that runs independent of my existing stereo system. I have a single din free at the moment.

YOu could go the Tom Tom Navigator Route.

Its a bluetooth system which couples with an HP iPaq.

I think it comes in at around a grand. Check out www.widget.co.uk
I have fitted this to a JAG XKR, and it runs independant of the cars systems, although you can have it Hard WIred if you wish.

Cheers!

Something like a Garmin StreetPilot? Doesn't use any DIN & sits on your dash. Limited display.

TomTom Navigator 2 as stated above but not that expensive. Dell Axim at around £200 or cheap iPaq. Haicom GPS £80. TTN2 software £117. Brackets for about £35. Bluetooth option will be a bit more expensive but not much.

Thumbs up

or you can get the TomTom and Ipaq and use the GPS output from a Road Angel if you've already got one...

You don't have to spend that much.

Halfords sell a complete Pocket PC based GPS system for £399, which is almost identical to one which was (and possibly still is)available from Aldi's for £349.

Medion Navigator

Dell also do a complete system with a Dell Axim and TomTom Nav 2 (not bluetooth version) for around £369 (sorry I can't find a link at the moment).

Goto http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/ for all your GPS needs!

Chaps,

I have an Ipac running NAVMAN GPS software.

Total cost £600.00 including an Ipac.

Happy hunting,

How do you find the Navman works for you Korky? I've given up using mine on the Ipaq. Have got fed up with it trying to take me really strange routes to places (sometimes over 100 miles further than I actually needed to go).

Are any of these systems "reliable"? I'v heard goodthings about TomTom, but having had my fingers burnt by the NavMan, I'm reluctant to spend out even more dosh on something that might not be any better....

Iain
