Unhappy

Can anyone help me before I blow up my speakers? I installed all wiring etc ready to connect up to my amplifier but stupidly fiddled with all settings ie hp/lp filters,+/-db,and all crossovers on top. It is an old Alpine MRV305 4/3/2 channel. Can anyone tell me cut off frequencies for bass, treble etc or better still have an instruction manual for Alpines?

I know its old but it did work fine!

Goin to sit in corner with dunce cap now!

Depends what you want to do with it mate

I would personally set a high pass filter on the fronts and rears at around 60Hz, as your speakers will stress themselves trying to produce tones lower than that.

High pass filters allow frequencies higher than the setting to pass - low pass frequencies do the opposite...

Avoid boosting bass or treble, as you can easily send clipped signals to speakers by turning these up too much.

You can download manuals from Alpinesite[/url], though you need to go through registration.

Cheers,
Nick.
