Adding input to LR Disco ICE?
#1
Since this is the best ICE forum I know perhaps someone here has experience with Land Rover Discovery systems???
On the ES spec DSII with the HK sound system I would like another input as well as the radio, CD and Tape that are already there.
We have a portable DVD for the kids that sits nicely on the cubby box between the front 'armchairs' , but the sound is dreadful . I bought one of those adapters that slots into the tape unit which gives fantastic sound in the vehicle - has to be heard to be believed but it looks pretty scruffy as we've already got the power unit plugged into the cigar lighter socket .
Is there a better way of plumbing this in and controlling it through the head???
Cheers
Mick

I remember once seeing someone have a CD Changer installed into his Renault HU through the Aerial input, and then plugging the aerial into that. Meant that he could play the radio and the changer through the radio setting on his HU, though not at the same time obviously)
Required a small extra control (about half DIN). Maybe better audiophiles would know.

You can get a Connects2 aux adaptor for this head unit which converts the CD changer port into an aux input.
Alternatively, you could:
1. use a Connects2 CD adaptor to use a Sony CD changer and frig the audio input with a phono switch or
2. find the audio on the OE changer harness and rig up a switch for that.
Feel free to ping to delve further if need be.
