Hi, i want to fit a sub to my scooby. I not really into my ICE but i definatly want a sub of some kind in the car. So can anyone suggest a sub/amp combination that is worth investigating. I am looking for something that is considered a good alrounder, not cheap and nasty, but not the best of the best either.

Thanks

Ste

I can't remember who (sorry!) but someone has just invested in a 100 quid box from Infinity that seems good - have a search on hereand you might be lucky

It really depends on what type of music you listen to and the volume you listen to it at which is the decider as to what you go for.

Do you want sharp puncy bass or bass you can feel?

Hi, i listen to loads of different style of music, like most people I suppose, so i need a good alrounder. My budget MAX is £500, but to be honest i was hoping to pick something up second hand for about half that. There are a few avaiable on loot but i havent got a clue whats a good buy or not.

Thanks

Going by what you've said I'd be inclined to go for a 10" Sub in a sealed box. I've got an Alpine which I'm more than happy with.
You should go to Halfords or a ICE shop to hear them and decide which one you want, then order it off the internet to save £.

(An idea, get a 4 channel amp so you can run the sub and two front speakers to give much better sound! )

E-bay is quite good, you could get pheonix gold stuff over from America (the mutts nuts!) for less then Alpine costs in this country! Try this guy, I've got a few bits and peices from him http://www.stores.ebay.com/greataudiovideo, very good value!

I'd suggest a single 12 rather than a single 10 for a saloon, but your mileage may vary

For amp, as above I'd pick one up off ebay - phoenix gold, soundstream, ... Can't go far wrong with their high end stuff. Just check what you're buying before you buy
