is the adaptor to fit an aftermarket headunit in to an import 96 impreza the same as a uk impreza??

or is there 2 diff types of adaptors?

 

they will say there is 2, however im not sure. i think there maybe a difference in the type of harness, not a 1000% sure though.

 

No, they are the same. Any impreza from 94> uses the same harness.

 

That surprises me Chiark. When I went to buy an adaptor from Halfords, it said on their screen that it would fit every kind of Impreza from 94 onwards EXCEPT for a WRX import! Went 10 miles down the road to the nearest proper ICE shop and they were out of stock. Ended up cutting the existing wiring and doing it myself with bullets. Will be irritating if I find that I could have done it properly with the wiring adaptor that Halfords had
