1) how do i remove the head unit to connect the RCA's to the amp?
2) how do i remove the floor carpet near the doors so i can wire the amp to the headunit and the battery. (amp is in boot).
any help appreciated.

Hi Zak,
Have u seen the FAQ, there's some stuff in there - http://www.chiark.com/scooby/icetoc.asp . All the instructions for removing the h/u are there.
To lift the carpet, remove the sill trims first. There's four little popper things on the sill in the door IIRC, then there's some poppers at the front in the footwell and one in the door closure. That just lifts out.
The rear doors is much the same, only there's a screw on popper under the seat holding the sill in. Remove the seat base with two bolts and you're there.
You can remove the trim around the b-pillar (seat belt pillar) by just unclipping once the sills are off.
There's a handy grommet that you can use for power too. It's just above the ECU. Again, the FAQ shows the exact location.
Cheers,
Nick.
