Power/sound problems
#1
OK, recently had my headunit upgraded to an Alpine 9813R and my front speakers to a pair of Focals.
Also have now had the Alpine Nokia car kit fitted (which connects to the headunit), but am getting some serious problems...
Basically when using the car kit, as my speed increases, the 'volume' level of the conversation reduces (and starts to drop in and out). I have tried various experiments to see if it is related to ambient noise, revs etc. with no effect.
I've also noticed that since the phone kit was fitted, when listening to 'bass-rich' music, the headunit lights dim in time...it didn't do it when only the headunit was fitted.
Any ideas? Could the headunit/phone kit be drawing too much power through the wiring?

Could you have fitted the Nokia kit wrongly?
Other than that...
Check is the earth connection for the h/u and the phone kit and the power connection(s). Try running a power cable directly from the battery and see if you still get the problems, similar for the earth.
Vindaloo.
