...weatherproofing?
I'll explain:
I fitted my Focal components in the front at the weekend. Thanks to everybody, expecially Chiark and Stefan, who have posted Q & A's on this site. It was quite a job to get them in but without reading Scoobynet I would of stuggled even more.
Anyway, I fitted it all on Saturday. I noticed quite a alot of vibrations when putting a bit of power through the woofers so off I went to buy some Dynamat.
When I removed the woofers on Sunday to fit the Dynamat I noticed a fair bit of water and dampness on the speaker. It had rained the night before so I'm presuming its rain water that's found it's way through the window seal.
Has anyone else found this? If so, have you done anything about it?
I'm a bit worried that my nice new Focal's are gonna get water damaged.
Cheers in advance
Matt

matt, your windows do leak - everyone's do. It is a worry, and you can make a shield out of stiff plastic that sits above the back of the driver higher inside the door. It doesn't guarantee they won't get wet at all, but it should mean that the worst of it is avoided.
These conditions in-car are reasons why domestic stuff used in car without any modification can get damaged - car stuff should be able to survive it.
Cheers,
Nick.

Thanks Nick. I suppose the in-car stuff is designed to be a lot more robust.
The speakers that I took out looked like they'd got wet quite often but worked ok...
...well, as ok as the original ones do!
