Does anyone have any preferences for what make to use or is it all the same stuff and only the price is a deciding factor?

I've seen Dynamat, Roadkill, Brown Bread etc but I've also been told that self-adhesive waterproof roof flashing from DIY shops works just as well (£14.95 for 10 meters x 225mm)

It's a job you do once so I want to get it right.

Flashing is effective of a fashion, but you do get what you pay for... IMHO, my favourite for the money is the stuff from Noisekiller acoustics as that's easier to work with than dynamat (even extreme), and gives good results.

Some swear by extreme and there's no doubt it probably is the ultimate, but I'm just tight

ive always used the flashing tape in my last 3 cars, always done what it said and is cheap

Brown bread so I've heard is good but messy to fit.

I've used tons of dynamat in the past but theres a few types now. Wouldn't know much about the differences to bo honest.

Unless you're after some serious results, the toss up between easy to fit and cost will leave you with some midle of the road stuff like the autoleads mats.

I'd say its fairly good and will stop a large majority of your rattles.

Agree with Chiark on this one, noiskiller is good stuff, check scooby shop for details. Excellant customer service as well. You wont be disappointed.

Who supplies the noisekiller stuff? (I've got another car to do)

I think I got brownbread from MCS-direct. Large roll did the front and back doors for £20! - was a bit messy, but not too bad IMHO

Used brown bread myself, under the boot lid, double layer, and in the doors, this stuff can be a little messy and does need warming up with a hair dryer so that it sticks better, it's not that cheap either, got mine when maplins sold there stock off
