Just installed new Head unit, Speakers and Car Kit
#1
Hi
I have just installed a new head unit, Focal 165A speakers and a Parrott bluetooth car kit.
I was amazed at how easy the installs was after reading chiark.com. The head unit was ridiculously easy- the dash comes apart like meccano.
The speakers took a little more time- I used Vauxhall Vectra spacers and the Focals slipped in no problem. It would have been even easier if I hadn't dynamatted the doors.
The car kit took about an hour. It connects via bluetooth to any make of phone and uses voice recognition as well as a small remote. It was only £100 from amazon.co.uk. I can't recommend it enough.
So, if you are holding off because of your worried about doing the work, don't! If I can do it anyone can.
Cheers
Dave

I think they are known as 165 but the number on the back says 165A??
Quick update on the vectra spacer- they were 5hite and I ended up making spacers (badly) out of MDF on Monday night. They resonated so much you could hardly hear the music!
I also switched the crossovers on to smooth (there is a switch inside) and they are a lot less tinny than they were.
Cheers
