Can anyone tell me the size of the speakers in the rear shelf of the STI5 TypeR. They look to be a very odd shape (maybe 7" x 6") but I am unsure as to which size to buy.

Thanks

I wish I could go down that route, but the idiot in Japan whom the car came from decided it would be a great idea to sit some strange kenwoods ontop of the shelf. The wires then needed to be connected to the sources under the carpet, so he punched two small holes in the carpet to feed them through.

So I either get some new speakers to replace them, of hopefully somebody tell me where I can get a new rear parcel shelf carpet for a typeR

How Bizarre!!

I had exactly the same on my Type R.......Rear mounted Kenwoods already fitted.

I decided to cover the existing shelf with black accoustic material after the new 6x9s had been put in.

Get yourself a set of the 7" Dynaudios and a seriously LARGE amp, or possibly two - one for each side!

Of course you would then need some rediculously loud stuff for the front (coz they should deliver more volume at the front) and then it just gets out of hand!!!
