I am looking to put two 12" subs in the back of my P1.
I am undecided wether to get 2 x 12" Kicker solobarics. Or 2 x Dual Voice coil Pioneers or 2 x Infinity Variable Q 12s.
I have been told that the kickers are good for the grumbly stuff and not much else! I am looking for punch and clarity. I am not looking for a plodding base sound.
Also what type of enclosure Ported or sealed to get the best response?
I have a pheonix gold M44 and an Alpine MRV-F407 amps to run my system. I am thinking of using the M44 to run the components (or whats left of them!) and bridging the alpine into two channels, one for each sub. Does anyone know if this amp is 2 ohm stable?
Thanks again
Martin

2 10s fit very nicely... And will give plenty bass. I can't recommend these subs enough :-) - I'm running a single 12, and that works for me.
The 10s have the same motor assembly as the 12 . Also, the output of 2 10s will be more than a single 12...

i've just got hold of a mac daddy 10", which is replacing my jlw6 (which is for sale), generally speaking, a lot depends on a good sealed enclosure for accurate bass, but 10" will give slightly more punch and 12" will drop a bit lower, either way a good jl (w6!) or a diamond audio would be a sound choice...

for accuracy and natural sounding bass stick with sealed enclosures. ported are good for high db but u loose the clarity and accuracy as a result. bandpass is a compromise of both worlds, and i wouldnt reconmend it...
as for the subs, your lookin for clarity, then go with infinty. the kickers are for the extreme bass junkies only imho. im not too keen on the pioneer subs, though they do make some crackin amps and some of the best headunits out there...

Cheers peeps!!
Would like to stick to 12"s as I have a kappa 12 in a tube, running of a kenwood KAC-716 amp. This has plenty of punch and clarity.
I think I might go for Infinity, as it will match the rest of the system

The Kickers are definatly for the bass monsters out there , i got a pair of 12inch Kickers, they could wake the dead , deep pounding bass , not terribly defined , or tight , but by god , it rattled every panel on my car.
