I fitted on of these in my mates 5 Series BM. I wasn't impressed at all. looks like a toy - too plastic looking.

And the sound....nothing to write home about. (my experience only!).....audition it 1st.

Lee the biased Dension distie here wanting to respond the the above.

Absolutely. Must audition. Bear in mind that a £400 HU with removable 20GB HD is not going to have the sound or features of a £400 CD/Tuner. Consider it sonically as an entry-level head £150ish head unit. Also remember, we're dealing with a compressed audio format here. At what bit rate were your 5-series' owner's mp3s encoded at? If 128kbps, then an SQ judgement isn't really meaningful. I find that for the car 192kbps is a good bitrate. I only notice the difference when listening back to back with a CD.

The beauty of DH-100 is simplicity, convenience and price. User feedback is that the model of a removable HD with USB2.0 is exactly what's desired; ditto the content navigation.

Swindonish... your closest dealers will be Oxford Car Audio or Techne (Basingstoke). If you're ever at the London end of the M4, ping me and you can hear how not good at all 4x35W sounds in my scruffy E36
