can anyone tell me how to install 6x9 speakers into my 97 uk car cant seem to be able to get rear shelf out or old grills off also the hole that is left when i fianlly get it apart seems to have some gold adapter plates after i remove these will the new speaker fit without any cutting. i also want to mount speakers under the old grills any help would be great

Cant help as i havent done it yet but im interested to know whether any cutting needs to be done.

Check the FAQ to get the old ones out and then screw the new ones in from underneath

Lots of cutting required!! I'm not sure what the shelf is made of but it ate 5 heavy duty dremmel discs.

I made up 2 mdf spacers(can be a bit fiddly) then used the original speaker hole's to bolt the spacers on. then just fit new 6*9s to the spacers. no cutting or drilling of metal needed and it sounds fine.
