Kenwood stereo security
#1
Hi guys, hoping someone might be able to help me out!
Had my engine repaired after big ends went, as a result the battery was diconnected, this in turn switched of all the stereo settings.
I am the second owner of the car, have had it for 4 months. It was purchased from a subaru dealer. The Kenwood system was installed by the previous owner and it would seem that he did not pass on all the bits for the stereo as i am missing some form of key fob that transmits a signal to the stereo after the battery has been disconnected. This apparently deters theft!
I have been in touch with the dealer and they can no longer get in touch with previous owner as he has moved address.
Popped in to my local " helpful " halfords as they are the only place that is open and they say they cant do anything without me having proof of purchase and they say that Kenwood wont do anything either! So you can see my prediciment!
Has anybody else experienced this, if so any suggestions ( other than buy a new stereo!! )
Cheers
Mikey

Chiark, the previous owner has moved address so the one on the V5 is no longer applicable.
I have sent Kenwood an Email via their website, i am going to pop into a local car audio centre today and see if they can help
