Just bought an in-car DVD package, comprising of DVD player, 5.6" monitor, remote control and headphones for £200 (brand new, special offer from Centurian). I bought this after seeing a fellow scoobynetters in-car set up at the weekend.

I think it's quite a good deal, but how easy is it going to be to install myself?

Anyone else got a DVD set-up and encountered any problems?

It'll be very easy to install - good price, too!

All you need is power, and then to connect the bits together. If it's all in a bag you might find that it all just plugs in then keeps the kids quiet

I don't have any kids chiark! It's for me for when I bored during my lunchbreak!

Sounds easier than I thought, so I'll give it a go. Will no doubt post pictures when it's in.

The FM modulator was on back order and I've only just received it, so it's been sitting in my loft for the last couple of months.

I'm now ready to install it, and suddenly wondering where exactly I should put the monitor (the DVD player will be going under the front seat most likely). It is an independent one, i.e. not built in to a unit, and it comes with a stand as such (see below)

I have a MY99 WRX, so can anyone let me know the best place for it to go? I would intend to take the screen out when I'm not using it of course.

Help appreciated!

Well i'm gonna get 2 7.1 tfts mounted in the rear of my bucket seats (STI2000 interior) in MY93 WRX for my kids

If you don't mind sitting in the back during your lunch hour then do the same - although you may get some strange looks being in the back on your own!

I installed a seperate monitor underneath the radio and relocated the *** lighter in a MY1995. Might have some pics somewhere. Just modified the cage behind it and put the DVD player in the boot. Thats where the guy wanted it! Looked very OEM too. Just requires a bit of plastic, a bit of time and then stand back and admire you work!
