whicj 6x9 fit scoobs?
I'm also planning to change the standard rear speakers in my MY99 shortly so would be very interested in peoples recommendations for an easy quality upgrade. Can a good improvement be had for around £50?
Cheers,
James

I put some kenwood 6949s (I think that's the number...) in the back of my Scoob. All that it required was drilling some new mounting holes for the fixing bolts.
It's a much easier job if there are 2 of you doing it - one to hold the speaker, and the other to lay in the boot marking and drilling holes.
They cost about £25 from MCS, and do show quite an improvement. I'm using them as infill for the component speakers up front - do the front ones first - that's where the sound quality comes from.

Just installed some Infinity 3-way reference 6 x 9's into my classic (and 16cm Infinities into front doors) - easy fit but then was just upgrading the previous naff 6 x 9's installed by a previous owner. New screw holes have been drilled for me - watch out that you don't go 2 far and cut into the parcel shelf material if you DIY.
2002 kit, sub £80 from letsbuycaraudio.com
Installed from boot, no need to remove parcel shelf and plenty of room around the metal bits.
Massive improvement - I know that fronts are where it's supposed to be where all the action comes from, but even with heavy bias front wise, rears do a lot more than just fill!
One very happy (deaf) bunny!
