anyone bought a ex demo alpine screen headunit at halfords?

not bad at 599, but got one a few days ago, had problems with input from ps2 or any other dvd machine. can't seem to find problem, nor can the guys at halfords, thought the unit was busted but tried out another working one which was collected at salisbury but still the same thing, funny thing is it displays a picture in the halfords branch but not in the car. HELP
